What is available today?
A text editor with TXT and editable DOCX export; a spreadsheet with bounded formulas, basic charts, CSV and XLSX import/export; and a simple slide editor with editable PPTX export. There are three example templates. Editors need no model download, account or payment.
How does the AI fit in?
A catalogue groups seven pinned model candidates by writing, general tasks and code. Download sizes, CPU/GPU requirements and tested status are shown before you choose. The AI Studio can receive selected text from your workspace and return an answer as a separate draft. It never overwrites the original automatically. No generated code or formula is executed merely because a model suggested it.
Does everything stay on my device?
Workspace content stays in tab memory, or in this browser’s local storage after you explicitly save. Imported Office files are processed here; they are not uploaded. Model downloads still contact Hugging Face and disclose connection metadata. Contact-form details, if that form is enabled, are deliberately sent to the operator’s server to handle your request. There is no silent cloud inference fallback, advertising tracker or usage analytics.
Is this a full Office replacement?
No. Import is limited to basic text/data, up to 5 MB, with explicit row/column/slide limits. Complex formatting, images, macros, tracked changes and many formulas are not supported. Exported files use simple editable layouts. Check important exports in your usual Office application. Offline reopening, collaboration and cross-device sync are not offered.
How good are the models?
Only SmolLM2 360M CPU has completed real inference tests on the available PC. It was around one token per second; an English rewrite kept the sample facts, but summaries and exact formats were unreliable, and an Italian rewrite changed meaning. CPU output is limited to English in the preview. Other catalogue entries are candidates with checked metadata, not verified performance or quality.
What does it cost?
The current preview is free. There is no checkout or paid plan. Usefulness and a possible future offer still need validation. We do not promise revenue, productivity savings or frontier-model quality.
How can I help shape it?
Try one real task you are comfortable processing on your own device. Keep a copy of your files. Tell us what worked and what failed through questions and feedback when the enquiry form is enabled. Do not send confidential files or passwords.
